Terms of Use
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of Houseplant Propagation (“the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
What the site provides
The site publishes free guides about propagating houseplants, for general information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the guides clear and accurate, but we do not promise that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result by following it. Plants are living things, and whether and how fast a cutting or a division takes depends on the species, the health of the parent plant, the method, the season and the conditions in your home. Some cuttings fail even when everything is done with care. The guides describe what to check and what usually helps; they are not a diagnosis of your plant, and any time ranges they mention are approximate.
Propagation information at your own risk
The content on the site is general information. It is not professional horticultural, veterinary or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who can examine your plant, your pet or you. You follow the guides at your own risk, and you are responsible for deciding whether a suggestion suits your plant and your home. Propagation involves cutting a plant, which can weaken or kill it, and it involves blades: handle scissors, snips and knives with care.
Toxicity, sap and product labels
Some houseplants are toxic to pets or to people, and the sap of some can irritate skin. Where a guide mentions whether a plant is listed as toxic or non-toxic, it links to the source of that statement, and you should check that source for the exact plant you own. A plant that is listed as non-toxic is not a plant that is safe to eat. If a pet or a child eats part of a plant, contact a veterinarian, a doctor or a poison control service right away.
If you use rooting hormone or any other product mentioned in a guide, read the product label and follow it. The label on the product you bought takes priority over anything written on this site, including its directions on handling, protective gear, storage and keeping the product away from children and pets.

Unless stated otherwise, the text, illustrations and design of the site belong to Houseplant Propagation. You are welcome to:
