Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Houseplant Propagation (“the site”, “we”) collects when you visit, how it is used and the choices you have. The site is an informational website about propagating houseplants. You can read every guide without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
Information you give us
Contact form. When you send a message through the Contact page, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. We use this information only to read and respond to your message. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the form.
The site does not offer user accounts, newsletters or a comment section, and we do not sell products.
Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like most websites, the server that hosts the site may record technical information for each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. This information is used to keep the site secure and working, and to diagnose technical problems.
Abuse protection. To limit automated abuse of the contact form, the site briefly keeps a count of recent submissions linked to a scrambled form of the sender’s IP address. The address itself is not stored for this purpose, and the count expires after about an hour. If a message cannot be sent, what you typed is kept for a few minutes so the form can show it to you again, and is then deleted.
Cookies. The site uses a small number of cookies. They are described in our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
- To operate, protect and maintain the site.
- To fix errors and improve the guides.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Third-party services
Some guides link to a small number of external reference pages, such as a published list of plants that are toxic or non-toxic to pets, or a university extension page about propagation. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Analytics and advertising. At the date of this policy, the site does not use third-party analytics and does not run third-party advertising. If we add analytics or advertising services in the future, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits or to show ads. This policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first, to name the providers and explain your choices, before those services are used.
How long we keep information
Messages sent through the contact form are kept only for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted or anonymized according to the retention settings of the hosting service.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us through the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, as described in the Cookie Policy.
Children’s privacy
The site is a general-audience website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, please let us know and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
